In this Mequon colonial, a once-compartmentalized first floor has been reimagined into a bright, open, and connected living space. The kitchen, formerly small and closed off, was opened to the dining room to create a central gathering area that reflects the family’s lifestyle and improves sight lines throughout the home. We reworked the floor plan to enhance flow, remodeled the kitchen and dining room, refreshed the basement stairs, and opened up the second-floor stairway—all tied together with new hardwood flooring. The result is a cohesive, transitional space designed for both everyday living and hosting family with ease.
