When it comes to exploring the natural beauty of Wisconsin, the team at Wade Design & Construction knows where to find the best hiking trails. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just looking for a relaxing day in nature, these trails offer something for everyone. Here are our team's favorite hiking spots in Wisconsin:
Devil’s Lake in Baraboo is a standout favorite. Emily loves both sides of the bluff, which offer exciting hikes with breathtaking views. "It has really pretty views and it doesn’t even feel like you’re in Wisconsin," she says. This spot is perfect for those seeking a mix of adventure and stunning scenery.
Cody's Pick: Ice Age Eastern Terminus Trail Loop, Potawatomi State Park
Cody's top choice is the Ice Age Eastern Terminus Trail Loop in Potawatomi State Park. "It’s a beautiful trail—the landscape changes throughout, making it super fun and interesting to keep walking on," he explains. From woods and rocky sections to parts that border the water of Sturgeon Bay, this trail is a true gem and part of one of the longest national trails in the US.
Kristin finds peace and beauty at Whitefish Dunes State Park. "Hiking on the path and down the beach is so relaxing and beautiful," she shares. Boasting one of the best beaches in Wisconsin, this park offers a tranquil hiking, beach, and exploration experience all in one.
Nic recommends the Seven Bridges Trail in South Milwaukee, particularly for families. "It’s an easy hike for little kids and a sweet payoff with a finish on the beaches of Lake Michigan," he notes. This trail provides an accessible and rewarding hike for all ages.
Jake is a fan of Copper Falls State Park, located in Northwest Wisconsin. "It has a bunch of different trails that overlook beautiful views of Copper Falls and Brownstone falls, and is kind of a hidden gem," he says. For those looking to discover lesser-known spots with spectacular views, this park is a must-visit.
Emma’s favorite hike is at Lion’s Den Gorge in Grafton. She loves the combination of "beautiful lake views, woodsy hiking paths, and lake access so close to Milwaukee." This park is a wonderful spot for a scenic and fun hike along the lake if you want to stay in the Milwaukee suburbs.
Mike enjoys the tranquility of the Lowe Lake to North Lake segment of the Ice Age Trail. "Where the bridge crosses the Oconomowoc River, it feels deep in the woods and is really peaceful near the river," he describes. This segment offers a serene escape into nature.
Cole has a memorable reason for loving the Ice Age Trail. "I like the Ice Age Trail, mostly because I have a funny memory of getting the troop lost there in scouts, and having to walk for an extra 6 miles because of it," he recalls. This trail not only offers a great hiking experience and beautiful views but also serves as a place for creating unforgettable stories and adventures with loved ones.
Cody also highlights the hike from Cave Point County Park into Whitefish Dunes State Park. "It's a nice transition from cliffs into the water into a beach with dunes," he points out. This trail provides a unique blend of rugged cliffs and sandy beaches, making it a diverse and enjoyable hike.
At Wade Design & Construction, we believe that exploring the great outdoors is an essential part of life in Wisconsin. Whether you're seeking thrilling bluffs, serene river crossings, or picturesque lake views, these hiking spots are sure to deliver unforgettable experiences. Happy hiking!
